General HVAC in Hudson, NY

Homeowner called saying the system wasn't keeping up — blowing air but not doing much with it. Pulled the access panel on a mid-2000s Trane air handler and found the blower capacitor reading 6.2 µF against a 10 µF rating — well outside tolerance. That's enough to slow the blower significantly without killing it outright, which is why it ran all night and never caught up. Swapped in a matched replacement cap, verified motor RPM came back to spec, then walked the whole system — checked refrigerant pressures, inspected the coil, and confirmed the thermostat was staging correctly. Everything else looked solid. Back to normal before end of day.
