Well Pump Installation Services

Our professional technicians are experienced with installations for hand pumps, jet pumps, and submersible pumps.  If you don’t know what kind of well you need on your property, we can do an assessment and make sure you have the right kind of well pump for your property.

Jet Pumps: Single drop jet pumps are the type of pumps that you see in a well house or home.  These well pumps work best for shallow wells.  A single drop jet pump is above the well, and it uses a motor to draw the water up through a pipe.  The motor creates a suction that brings the water through a jet.  The constricted jet allows the water to move faster.

A double drop jet pump is different from a single drop because the jet is in the well and the motor is above the well.  A double drop pump is typically used for deeper wells.

Hand Pumps: A hand pump is a well pump that is manual.  These are usually installed if you want to be able to access water when the electricity goes out, or you have a need for a water source outside.  They can be convenient for many uses and are great for homes that have a lot of landscaping.

Submersible Pump: A submersible pump is a well pump that is inside the well.  These pumps last long but are harder to do maintenance on because they aren’t above ground.  If a submersible pump has annual check-ups, it is easy to go many years without ever needing to have them repaired or replaced.

Maintenance and Repairs

When you contact us for maintenance services, we will come to do a series of tests and inspections to make sure your well is maintained and working properly.  Regular maintenance and check-ups are the best way to keep the need for repair services minimal.

Inspections: Our professionals will inspect your well visually and go over the workings of your well pump to make sure it is in good condition.  Your wellhead should be sealed properly to make sure that your well is sanitary.  If it isn’t, we can sanitize your well and make any adjustments that need to be done.

Flow Testing: A flow test measures the output of your well to see if your pump is working the way it should.  Your water flow should be in a specific range so that you have proper water pressure and you don’t have to wait for the water in certain rooms.  If there is a problem with the output, we will work to make sure the problem is resolved, so your well system is supplying water the right way.  We could check the electrical system, pressure levels, and the motor to see if there is an issue affecting the pump.

Water Testing: We can perform a water test on your well to make sure that your water quality is good.  If you think the quality of your water is going down, you may have contaminants in your water.  These contaminants sometimes smell or taste bad.  We can test your water to see if it is safe and provide solutions if it isn’t.

Repair Services in Wallkill: You may find that your well pump needs to be repaired.  Our technicians at D. Rohde Heating and Plumbing have the skills and tools to make sure that you have safe water from your well quickly.  Water that doesn’t taste good, looks murky, or smells bad shouldn’t be consumed until we test it for contaminants!  If your well pump stops working, or it seems like your well is dry, call us as soon as possible so that we can come assess your situation.
